Harbinger is an Edwardian gaff cutter, believed to have been built as a Manx Nobby (a fishing boat). the date of conversion is unknown.

Vital statistics are: - LOD 38ft-6ins, beam 11ft-6ins, draft 5ft-6ins, LOA 50ft, berths 5, Engine 29hp Volvo. She is wood and dry, yes really. Subject of a major restoration in the 1980’s and well maintained since. Full survey 2006.  Harbinger is currently kept at a yard on the River Itchen at Southampton.

I am a retired Chartered Engineer interested in classic cars as well as gaff-rigged boats. I have been a member of the Solent OGA since the 1980s.
I am looking for 2 or 3 like-minded people to make full use of Harbinger. [There is a plan to sail to Brest 2012  in July, which needs partners to help it happen ;-) ]
