Wants to share Boats - Sail
Life is tough for us financially at the moment. We own a special 43 foot sailing yacht which we haven't used all year, currently moored in Portsmouth Harbour UK.

We've had a dream that next year should be different.

We have come up with a plan which might be of interest to you if you like sailing. Our lovely yacht is basically in need of a bit of TLC, nothing major, but it needs a bit spent on it and a bit of maintenance too.

We would like to trade use of the yacht in return for some cash to do the work needed and some help with the maintenance.

We are not looking to pocket any money ourselves, we want it all to go into the boat.

We are open to suggestions about arrangements and plans. Realistically we would like some weekends and some time in the school holidays, but realistically the total of that is not a lot.

We think perhaps we could get the boat to the med, perhaps Croatia or even take it on a voyage where the people sharing use it for different legs. We would also be happy to stick with the Portsmouth base or even move the boat to Devon.

Under the deal we are thinking about you could get extending use much cheaper than a conventional charter.

The objective for us is to get the boat in tip top condition with all the latest stuff so it is a pleasure for everyone to use.

We don't mind sharing with one party or more than one party.

The actual costs are something that we could discuss together. If you were interested we could meet up and jointly decide what needs to be done and bought and come up with a plan.

The boat was designed by Dubois. it is fin keel 6ft draft, cutter rigged and tiller steered with hydrovane self steering. It has two double cabins, two heads and lots of equipment.

Ellen Macarthur did some work on it and was the first person to sign the visitors books "WOW What a Seaworthy Boat - May She Sail Far". She even painted a picture of it. The boat has been down to Cape Town and raced to St Helena. We have also sailed to San Sebastian in Spain and back too. It is quite fast and although a cruising boat has seawater ballast tanks.

It is made of timber / epoxy, Canadian Yellow Cedar of laminated mahogany frames, with a painted hull and teak decks.

Are you up for an adventure?

We could come up with a deal for a year and then see how we all feel about continuing.

We need to cover all the costs with the shared arrangements.

If you are interested in anything, please get in touch, even if you just wanted a weeks use, I am sure we could make it much cheaper than normal charter.
