One of the first results of working with my new PR consultant, Kate Abbot of JunglePR was to appear on Future Radio, a Norwich based community radio station broadcasting on 96.9 FM to the Norwich area, and online at the Future Radio website. Appearing on radio shows is one of the key objectives for this press campaign: it gives me the chance to explain yours2share to a wide audience, and because yours2share is innovative as well as socially and environmentally conscious, radio stations are generally interested in speaking to me.
This was the first time I’d had anything to do with radio, so simply being allowed in the studio was exciting enough – the gadgetry appealed to the engineering side of me. I appeared for about half an hour on the Alison Turner show. Alison was fun to talk to. It was a pleasure to speak to someone who was doing a good job: she’d read and inwardly digested our press release and she asked some interesting questions. She also played some really good music, not your normal playlists repeating throughout the day. So good, in fact, that I’ve listened to Future Radio several times since and my car radio is now tuned to it.
I hope this will be the first of many similar radio interviews; we’ve already got the next one lined up. I’ll let you know how it goes.
