One reason why I started networking in Norfolk when I arrived here three months ago, was to find someone local to help yours2share tell the world why sharing can be very good for you. I needed a PR consultant. As far as I’m concerned, there are only three real ways to invest in promotion for yours2share – Google Adwords, targeted classified ads in the “share” sections of the boat and aircraft press, and PR to get as much press coverage as possible. SEO is also important, but I do most of this myself.
Last year with the help of another PR consultant, Tracy Reader of the Publicity Network, we achieved some excellent features in the Times, Sunday Times and Country Life, plus lots of other smaller mentions. Tracy is now working on other projects, hence my hunt for a new consultant. After meeting three local PR consultants, I am now working with Kate Abbot of JunglePR, and I think we will achieve some more good articles in the national press.
However one thing intrigues me. Last Monday (30th June) there was a massive spike in the number of visitors to yours2share, the second highest daily visitor count ever. And we’ve no idea why! yours2share must have had a mention, perhaps on the radio, possibly in a publication that doesn’t copy its editorial on-line, as all the traffic came in through direct entry of yours2share into the browser.
