I found another interesting car club last week called Wombat car club. As well as developing car clubs in the Colchester area, Wombat also enables people to convert an existing car to a car club.
There are three stages to this:
1 Finding local people to join in and share your car. Wombat help with the marketing and advertising – using yours2share is a good start.
2 Once you have another member, sort out your insurance and recovery services, provide on-line booksings system and provide telephone support
3 Once you have several members, provide a swipe card access system to control access and mileage
Effectively when you use your car, it is for your own normal private use, and when a member of the club uses it, you have loaned your car to Wombat to hire out. So you earn money from your car, when it would otherwise be sitting on your drive.
