I created yours2share to provide people with a route to the property, boat, or any other asset that they desire through fractional ownership or fractional rental. yours2share is a free independent internet service that enables people to find like-minded people with whom to share any high value asset including property and boats anywhere in the world.
I arrived at the idea for the website because I was fed up with the waste of resources that our weekend cottage represented, as we only used it twice a month. I wanted to find someone who would use it every other weekend when we weren’t there. I couldn’t find anywhere that I could advertise to find people for such an arrangement, or even tell me if it could be done. After much searching, I found people who had found sharing partners, through complete luck in most cases, and they explained how it could be done.
Anyway the idea kind of snowballed from there as I realized that there was also another route to sharing: fractional ownership. There are commercial developments available, but I think it should be easier for private individuals to find partners and put the arrangement together themselves. With a little thought, it isn’t difficult.
