Wants to share What else?I would like to get together with up to three other people to buy modern art.
I have £5,000 available and was thinking that if there were four of us, all investing £5,000 then we could buy four pieces, moving them from home to home every three months (or possibly every six months). It might take a while to choose and buy four anyway, but if the idea works, then we could increase our collection over time.
I would like to invest in work that I like and also that I think may increase in value. By clubbing together, we can enjoy a wider range, get some variety ourselves and spread the risk that some pieces increase in value and some don't.
I would particularly like the buying process to be an important part of the sharing agreement: discussing what we want and like, visiting dealers and auctions. I think it would be more enjoyable to do this with three people like myself, rather than on my own.
Unfortunately art isn't high on the agenda for any of my friends or family!
I've attached images of works that I like and found on the artnet.com website. They are simply an indication of my taste, but I could be persuaded into quite a range of 20th century art, or works from life or expressing movement. The only genre I'm generally not moved by is landscape. I would also consider buying sculpture and drawings.
I live in New Malden, in south west London. Ideally all of us would be in south west London, but it would probably work as long as we are all in London or even the south east.
