Wants to share What else?My aunt died recently and I have inherited a considerable amount of valuable and substantial antique furniture. My two bed flat cannot cope with this, but I hope to be able to house it all one day. These items have been in my family for generations.
In total there are ten items, Charles II refectory table, George II table, set of six George II chairs, set of two Charles II joined benches, George I bureau, two Charles II dressers, two James I chests and a huge oak James I dresser. I've attached pictures of some of them.
These are all substantial items that require a large high ceilinged house to do them justice. Sothebys have valued them at around £100,000 if they went to auction.
Ideally I would like someone to hire them from me for several years. If I haven't moved on to the point where I can accommodate them in five years and certainly in ten years (or I need some money!) then I will sell them (maybe to the person who hires them). I could fit one of several the items into my flat, and it would be nice to have one there and maybe swap it for another once a year.
